Peugeot is currently accepting applications for a Design Summer Class that will see 10 lucky young applicants join the company's designers on a four-week training course in Paris. Applications are open until April 30, 2017.
The intensive summer course will take place from July 17 to August 11, 2017, and is open to all students, worldwide, currently studying applied arts (industrial design, car design, graphic design, UX, architecture or related discipline). Students can be in any year of study.
Peugeot will cover all expenses, including food and accommodation — all you need to do is apply and, if you're accepted, buy a ticket to Paris.
Chosen applicants will work alongside and be mentored by Peugeot designers in their studio in Vélizy-Villacoublay, and live with them day in and day out for four weeks.
During that time, the selected applicants will compete on four different projects (one each week) and be required to express their creativity under the mentorship of the designer team. They'll experience working on projects where competition and teamwork come together.
Participants will be free to enjoy evenings and weekends on their own, though Peugeot will also arrange a Paris discovery trip each week.
Students will also learn about the Peugeot brand values, design cues, and company culture. On the final day, a management presentation will be held, allowing the students to show their best work, talk about the experience and share ideas with a receptive audience.
"The Peugeot Design Summer Class is a unique possibility for 10 design students to benefit from the 'savoir-faire' of our car designers," says Peugeot Head of Design, Gilles Vidal. "We are thrilled to help students from all over the world improve their skills while discovering the most beautiful city in the world."
Interested parties are asked to upload a simplified portfolio as well as a short video of themselves on the company's dedicated website[1]. Good luck!
