Ipoh Car Free Day A Hit With The Public

Datuk Bandar Ipoh, Datuk Zamri Man (pix) said the event had also instilled in people the good habit of separating solid waste from recyclable waste besides not dumping their rubbish at illegal dumping sites.
"We hope this will continue and be on par with developed countries who are working towards zero waste," he added.
Zamri also said the next Car Free Day to be held this Sunday will carry a theme "International Book Day Celebrations" .
Among the events are Cycle to Read and a Photo Challenge organised by the State Public Library Corporation.
The mayor also noted the number of NGOs and agencies participation had increased at every monthly Car Free Day.
