Body found in burned car on I-49 identified
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's has released the name of the woman found dead in a burning car in DeSoto Parish Friday morning.
The woman was identified as 51-year-old Kelly Jo Brunettin, according to Chief Deputy Brant Thompson with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office.
The car was found around 1:45 a.m. on Interstate 49 southbound near Stonewall.
A spokesman for the state fire marshal's office, Butch Browning says Brunettin's body was found severely burned inside the car.
She was identified and her body was sent for an autopsy, according to Browning.
According to the autopsy report, Brunettin died from smoke inhalation.
The fire marshal's office is working to determine the cause of the fire and treating it as a crime scene.
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police were called out to help with the investigation.
