Mitsubishi partners with BCA in supply chain deal

Mitsubishi has awarded BCA an exclusive contract to manage its supply chain from docks to de-fleet in a deal which should streamline franchisees' supplies of used car stock.

BCA will manage vehicles at Mitsubishi's import centre in Portbury before providing inbound and onward logistics, new vehicle preparation and enhancement, defleet and inspection and remarketing into the dealer network as part of the arrangement.

Avril Palmer-Baunack, executive chairman, BCA Marketplace plc said: "BCA is uniquely placed to provide a truly outsourced partnership that is aligned to a manufacturer's or fleet's business objectives.

"To meet the changing needs of the motor industry, the supply chain has to be flexible, agile and digitally enabled. De-fleet, refurbishment and remarketing adapt around the requirements of the brand, to put the right vehicle, at the right price, in front of the right buyer at the right time."

BCA will also utilise a range of high performance remarketing channels to support the sale of used Mitsubishi vehicles direct to the franchised retail network integrating online, direct sales and physical auction channels.

Mitsubishi Motors UK managing director, Lance Bradley said: "We took a fresh look at how best to drive cost out of our supply chain and improve service for our dealers and fleet customers.

"BCA's approach set them apart in their ability to create a solution that improves quality, service, systems, people and processes, but also demonstrated impressive levels of innovation and a thorough understanding of Mitsubishi customers and retailers.

"BCA also presented their proposal with a highly capable team, and we now look forward to a mutually beneficial business partnership over the coming years."
