Body found in car along I-85
JEFFERSON, Ga. -- A death investigation is underway in Jefferson, Ga. where a body was found along I-85 near Highway 129.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, an individual was discovered to have died from a gunshot wound to the head.
A GDOT worker discovered the body and called Jefferson City Police at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found a white male in his late 20s deceased inside the vehicle.
The body has been transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
SkyTracker11 was over the scene and saw a heavy police presence along the interstate where only one lane of traffic is open.
This case is still being investigated.
