Son, 28, spent Mother's Day with his mum - 'before killing her with a PITCHFORK and fleeing in her car'

A man accused of murdering his own mother is alleged to have spent Mother's Day with her before killing her with a pitchfork and fleeing the scene in her car.
After hours of interrogation, police charged Nathan White, 28, on Monday night with the murder of his 55-year-old mother Lynda Connors.
His older brother Simon, 31, was the one who found her bloodied body lying in a bed inside their family home in Sylvania, in Sydney's[3] south, after finishing a night shift.
It's believed he found her lifeless and wrapped in a blanket w ith severe head injuries just before 7am.
A few hours later police pulled over Mr White after detecting the number plate of his dead mother's car and dramatically arrested him at St Peters, in the city's inner-west.

Police will allege the murder weapon and a crossbow were both found in the back of the car. Mr White was refused bail and will appear in Newtown Court on Tuesday.
Neighbours told the Daily Telegraph[4] that Mr White had spent Sunday with his mother and was seen talking at the letterbox at 8.30pm on Monday.
A close family f riend also claimed Mr White had been struck over the head with a pool cue at a local pub roughly five years ago and hadn't been the same since.
A woman who said she had known Mr White since he was a child told the Sydney Morning Herald[5] that he had recently started hearing voices.
'Over the past 12 months he had just fully isolated himself,' she told the publication.
'Before that he was fine, he had normal conversations and everything.
'He had always been a pretty good kid growing up. He has had a hard life, he only had his mum. It was only mum and the two boys.'
Miranda commander Superintendent Michael O'Toole said police were appealing for witnesses that may have seen something suspicious on Sunday night.
'The (older son) is very disturbed by what has happened. He is the one who came across the incident and called police to attend it,' he said.

He confirmed a crossbow had been found but would not be drawn on whether it had any connection to Ms Connors' death.
'There was a crossbow taken out of the vehicle, but there are other items (that have) also been taken out of the vehicle that the older son was in,' he said.
He refused to rule out the possibility she may died on Mother's Day, saying it was too early in the investigation to determine an exact timeline of events.
Ms Connors' death is being treated as suspicious by police.

Superintendent O'Toole said Ms Connors eldest son was not in custody but was at Miranda Police Station assisting police with their inquiries.
A neighbour told Daily Mail Australia she didn't hear the disturbance next door and was woken by police.
The neighbour said the mother lived there with her two sons – and had done for 'about 20 years'.
NSW Homicide Squad detectives have taped off the townhouse complex and are speaking to family and friends of Ms Connors.
