Manurewa crash sends car plummeting 50m down bank

The crash happened at about 10.30am on Saturday at the corner of Redoubt and Murphys Rd's, Totara Park, Manurewa.
A driver escaped with moderate injuries after his car crashed 50 metres down a steep bank in south Auckland.
Firefighters called in a specialist rope team to rescue the motorist.
However, the moderately injured male driver was able to extricate himself from the car, which was stuck on private property 50 metres down a bank.

The car left the road and plummeted 50m down the steep bank onto private property, the Fire Service said.
The Fire Service said the crash at the corner of Redoubt and Murphys roads in Totara Park happened at 10.30am on Saturday.
Fire, ambulance and police attended the incident, the Fire Service spokesman said.
